When is it Ceremonial Grade? This label is used for matcha from the very first harvest (first flush) in the spring. Only the youngest, finest top leaf buds are used, which have been shade-grown. This ensures a bright green color, a soft, creamy umami taste, and zero bitterness.
What makes this matcha so special?
This matcha is made using Tencha leaves — shade-grown tea leaves specifically intended for high-quality matcha.
After harvest, they are slowly and finely ground to optimally preserve flavor, color, and nutrients.
Kagoshima is known for its pure terroir and craftsmanship in Japanese green tea.

How do you prepare matcha?
Preparing matcha is simple and does not need to be a perfect ritual.
1. Place ± ½ teaspoon of matcha in a bowl or cup
2. Add warm water (not boiling, ± 70–80°C)
3. Whisk until frothy with a whisk or matcha frother
Tip: also delicious with warm (plant-based) milk as a matcha latte.
Matcha has a distinct flavor that is different from classic green tea.
