Sustainability

With ZijTak, we want to be the sustainable webshop. We want to give everyone the opportunity to make their home a cozy place. Because baking together and drinking a cup of tea on the couch, those are the moments that are so important.

We want to bring products to market that truly last a long time. This way, we keep not only our customers happy but also the Earth.

All UN member states, including Belgium, have established 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals support 5 pillars: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.

Below is an overview of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and a brief explanation of how we, at ZijTak, are trying to do our best.

Material Selection

At ZijTak, we want to offer sustainable materials. For us, sustainable materials are those that last longer than average. In our policy, we certainly allow plastics, but only if it enhances the durability and quality of the product.

Some examples of materials are:

Silicone:

Silicone is often chosen by us as a material for a baking mold.

Silicone is a very safe and durable material. It has a wide temperature range. This means it can withstand high baking temperatures and can also be frozen! Because of the wide temperature range, the material lasts extra long;

Silicone is a material that is easy to clean. It cannot get scratched and it cannot break.

Glass:

Glass is made from natural products, is easy to clean, and does not retain any strange odors.

Packaging

For packaging, we opt as much as possible for highly recycled cardboard and paper.

We adapt our packaging according to the product. This way, we don't have to use unnecessarily large amounts of packaging material.

Since we use glass material, we have to protect it extra well to prevent breakage.

We do this with recycled protective material. We collect this from a distribution center. This prevents it from ending up in the trash and allows it to be used a second time to protect materials.

Energy

The energy we use at our point of sale is generated by solar energy.

We also constantly work with our manufacturers to use as much green energy as possible.

Ingredients

At ZijTak, we choose natural raw materials.

For example, the aromas we use in our tea are all natural aromas.
