Walnut bread
A delicious freshly baked walnut bread. The aroma comes for free!
Ingredients:
For 1 loaf:
- 500 g flour
- 20 g fresh yeast
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- pinch of salt
- 100 g walnuts
Preparation:

Dissolve the yeast in 200 ml of lukewarm water (+/- 30°C).
Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the middle.
Add the olive oil and the yeast and mix everything well.
Add the salt.
Knead by hand for about 10 minutes until you have a smooth dough.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it back in the bowl with a clean towel over it.
Place the dough for 1 hour in a warm, draft-free spot in the house. This is the best way for it to rise.
Finely chop the walnuts.
Remove the towel. The dough should now be about double in volume. If not, let it rise for a bit longer.
Knead the dough again thoroughly for 5 minutes and add the walnuts.
Ensure the walnuts are well incorporated into the dough.
Now place the dough in the baking tin you wish to use to bake the bread. This can be a rectangular or round tin.
Place the towel over the baking tin and let it sit for another 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Remove the towel and place the dough in the oven.
Bake for about 20 minutes.
Enjoy!
