Spiral cake with Easter eggs
A fresh spiral cake with a touch of Easter.
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 50 ml sunflower oil
- 250 g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 lemon (organic)
- 250 g flour
- 125 g crème fraîche
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- 200 g sugar-coated chocolate eggs
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Mix the butter and the oil in a bowl.
Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one by one. Mix well after each addition.
Zest the lemon and add it to the batter, along with the juice.
Now add the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
As the final step, add the crème fraîche and fold it into the batter.
Fill the spiral cake pan and place in the oven for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes, pierce the cake with a toothpick or a small knife. If there is still batter on it, leave it in the oven for a little longer (5 to 10 minutes).
Let it cool briefly in the pan.
Now carefully remove the cake from the pan. The best way to do this is to place the cake plate on top of the pan and turn everything over in one motion.
Sift the powdered sugar over the cake and fill the center with sugar-coated chocolate eggs.
