Christmas turban cake with nuts
Delicious Christmas spiral cake with nut filling.
Ingredients:
For the batter:
- 250 g butter, at room temperature
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For the Christmas filling:
- 100 g chopped nuts (we chose a mix of walnuts or hazelnuts)
- 100 g raisins
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
For decoration:
- 50 g powdered sugar
- Red and green decorations such as juniper berries.
Preparation:
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
-
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
-
In a separate bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Gradually add this to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until you have a smooth batter.
-
Divide the batter equally into two bowls.
-
Add the chopped nuts, raisins, cinnamon, and brown sugar to one bowl. Mix well.
-
Spoon half of the plain batter into the spiral cake pan and distribute it evenly across the pan. Next, spoon the entire nut batter into the pan. Finish with the remaining plain batter.
-
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove it from the pan to cool completely on a wire rack.
-
Finish with powdered sugar and the red and green decorations.
-
Slice the Christmas spiral cake and serve. Enjoy this festive treat during the holidays!
